How many downlights do I need?
The short answer is that you can typically have 1 downlight per square metre as a rule of thumb. You would normally leave a 1-metre gap between each downlight and a space of 50 cm (0.5m) from the walls of the room. This should allow for the light to be distributed evenly and cover all of the space you're targeting.
There are other variables to consider but this is generally the right way to fill your room with light.
What type of downlights do I need?
With their growing popularity, downlights have become more commonplace in both homes and commercial buildings. Because they're so popular, downlights come in a number of finishes and styles with different types of features which means that you have a lot to choose from. We have a huge range of downlights including LEDs, fire rated downlights, IP65 downlights, integrated LEDs and even GU10s.
