Why should I use bootlace ferrules instead of just stripping and inserting bare wire?
A lot of people do just use stranded wire without a ferrule. However, if you do use bare wire it can lead to loose connections, broken strands, or arcing especially under vibration or repeated tightening.
Bootlace ferrules help to keep the strands tightly bound, making it easier to insert into terminal blocks and improving contact. They also prevent wire damage during screw clamping, reducing the risk of failure.
