Combining an MCB and RCD in one unit, the FuseBox RTAM100B20BD protects a 20A circuit against overload, short circuit and earth leakage, with 100mA Type A sensitivity and a 6kA rating.

Type A detects AC and pulsating DC residual currents, the minimum type for most modern installations under BS 7671. Its bi-directional design allows supply to either set of terminals, so it can be used where current may flow in either direction, such as circuits fed by solar PV inverters or battery storage. The 100mA sensitivity suits circuits where 30mA additional protection is not required, for example upfront or discrimination duties, and where nuisance tripping on long cable runs must be avoided. At 20A with a B curve characteristic it is typically used on 20A radial socket circuits and dedicated appliance supplies.
