Feeding an electric vehicle charger from its own protected board, the FuseBox EV32RAZ pairs a 63A 30mA Type A RCD with a 32A MCB and adds Type 2 surge protection.
A separate EV supply unit keeps the chargepoint circuit independent of the house consumer unit, which simplifies installation where the existing board has no spare ways or no suitable protection. The Type A RCD suits chargers with built in 6mA DC fault detection, which most modern domestic chargers include. Type 2 surge protection helps protect the charger electronics from transient overvoltages. Always check the charger manufacturer's protection requirements before selection.
