The BG 9BTM/1-0J is a single gang master telephone socket from the square edge 900 Series. A master socket is the first socket on internal telephone wiring and contains the components that secondary sockets further along the circuit rely on.
It has screw terminals, so it can be wired with an ordinary screwdriver, and is made to BS 6312-2. It fits a single back box of at least 35mm at 60.3mm centres. Do not replace the line provider's own network termination point. Many UK lines now carry calls over the broadband router, so check how the property's phone service is delivered before wiring extensions. For extension points, use the 9BTS/1-0J or IDC 9BTSI/1-0J.
