FireHawk Long Life Battery Heat Alarm for Kitchens and Garages | FHH10
SKU: FHH10
Brand: Firehawk Smoke and Heat Alarms
Fire safety guidance is consistent on this point. Smoke alarms belong on escape routes, in lounges and in bedrooms, and heat alarms belong in kitchens, boiler rooms, workshops and garages. The FireHawk FHH10 covers that second group, giving you a compliant, low maintenance way to extend protection into the parts of a property where smoke detection would be a constant nuisance.
FireHawk Long Life Battery Heat Alarm for Kitchens and Garages | FHH10
Heat detection for the rooms a smoke alarm cannot cover.
It uses advanced thermistor detection controlled by bespoke software, responding to a rise in room temperature rather than airborne particles. Cooking steam, dust from a workshop bench and exhaust fumes in a garage pass it by. A real fire does not.
Installation takes minutes and needs no electrician. The Auto Switch Mounting Plate switches the alarm on the moment it is fitted and off again when it is taken down, so there is nothing to configure and nothing to wire. The sealed long life battery removes the annual maintenance visit entirely, which matters if you are managing more than one property.
For day to day use, a large central test and silence button covers weekly testing and quietens the sounder during a false alarm. If the battery does reach the end of its life, the warning chirp can be silenced for up to 10 hours so protection continues overnight rather than being pulled down at 2am.
Approved to BS 5446-2:2003 and supplied with a manufacturer's warranty. Choose the FHH10W if you need the heat alarm to interlink with smoke alarms elsewhere in the building.

Fitting Guidance
Mount on the ceiling, never on a wall. On apex or sloping ceilings, fit at the highest point. Keep clear of extractor fans, and vacuum with a soft brush every six months to keep dust off the sensor.
Building a Full System
A heat alarm supplements smoke alarms rather than replacing them. A standard two storey home is usually covered by smoke alarms on the hallway and landing plus a heat alarm in the kitchen. Add a carbon monoxide alarm wherever there is a boiler, stove or open flue.
