Soudal describes the product as an extra-thick acrylic paint containing pure zinc for applications requiring a high level of protection.
98% Zinc Purity for Corrosion Protection
The Soudal Zinc Spray uses zinc with a stated 98% purity to provide effective protection for ferrous metal surfaces.
It is designed to protect zinc, untreated iron and steel against corrosion, making it particularly useful where existing protective coatings have been damaged or where freshly worked metal requires additional protection.
This makes the spray suitable for professional metal fabrication, repairs, maintenance and construction work.
Ideal After Cutting, Threading & Welding
Cutting, drilling, threading and welding galvanised components can remove or damage the original protective zinc coating.
Soudal specifically recommends Zinc Spray 98% Acrylic for restoring corrosion resistance following threading, cutting and welding operations.
It can therefore provide a practical finishing treatment for fabricated and modified metal components where exposed areas need additional corrosion protection.
Extra-Thick Acrylic Coating
The formulation produces an extra-thick protective paint layer.
According to Soudal, the applied coating is approximately 30% thicker than that typically provided by similar paints, helping it withstand demanding environmental and mechanical conditions.
This makes it especially useful for ferrous components exposed to outdoor conditions and atmospheric stresses.
Resistant to Weathering & Mechanical Wear
Once applied, Soudal Zinc Spray 98% Acrylic offers strong resistance to:
- Atmospheric Exposure
- Corrosion
- Weathering
- Mechanical Shocks
- Rubbing
- Erosion
These characteristics make it particularly useful for metal components exposed to challenging working or environmental conditions.
Suitable for Spot Welding
The Zinc Spray is suitable for spot welding and is described by Soudal as a good electrical conductor.
This makes it useful in metalworking and fabrication applications where corrosion protection needs to be combined with subsequent manufacturing or repair processes.
Fast Drying & Paintable
The coating is dust dry after approximately 10 minutes and tack-free after approximately 20 minutes under the manufacturer's stated conditions.
Once fully cured, it can be painted over after approximately 24 hours, allowing an appropriate finishing coat to be applied where a different final appearance is required.
Excellent Temperature Resistance
Once cured, the coating offers a wide temperature resistance range of approximately -40°C to +200°C.
This makes it suitable for a broad range of metal protection applications where the finished surface may experience significant variations in operating or environmental temperature.
How to Apply
For best results, the substrate should be rigid, clean, dry and free from dust and grease. Loose old paint and rust should be removed before application, and Soudal recommends carrying out a preliminary adhesion test.
Shake the aerosol thoroughly and spray from approximately 20cm away. Soudal specifies application in two layers, allowing at least 2 hours between coats. A finishing coat can be applied after approximately 24 hours.
After use, Soudal recommends spraying the aerosol upside down for around three seconds until only propellant emerges, helping prevent zinc residue from blocking the valve.

Why Choose Soudal Zinc Spray 98% Acrylic?
The Soudal Zinc Spray 98% Acrylic provides a convenient aerosol solution for protecting metal components where a durable, zinc-rich coating is required.
Its combination of 98% zinc purity, high corrosion and weather resistance, mechanical durability, spot-welding suitability and -40°C to +200°C temperature resistance makes it particularly useful for professional fabrication, construction and maintenance applications.
For repairing damaged galvanised coatings or protecting metal exposed by cutting, threading or welding, it provides a quick and practical method of restoring corrosion resistance without conventional hot-dip galvanising.
