The BG 972-0J is a 45A double pole switch on a large plate, with a flush LED power indicator. It belongs to BG's square edge 900 Series and is used to isolate high current appliances such as cookers, hobs and electric showers.
The large plate gives a bold switch that is easy to find above a worktop, fixed at 120.6mm centres to a twin back box at least 47mm deep. The terminals take up to 16mm² cable. Fit a BG 979-0J cooker outlet plate behind the appliance to complete the circuit. Without the indicator, the 973-0J is the same switch; for a smaller plate, see the 974-0J. If you need a socket too, the BG 970-0J cooker control unit adds one.
